Bookmock is built so that there is very little about you to collect. Your book cover never leaves your device, and you do not need an account to use the tool.
Your cover stays on your computer
When you upload a cover, it is opened by your own browser. The mockups are drawn on your own device, and the files you download are produced there too. Your cover is never sent to us, never stored on our servers, and never seen by us or by anyone else. Closing the tab removes it.
This is not a promise about how carefully we look after your files. It is simply how the tool is built: there is nowhere for your cover to go.
What we do collect
Basic visit information. Like any website, ours records standard technical details when a page is served — the pages requested, rough location by country, browser type, and the time of the request. We use this to understand how many people use the tool and whether it is working.
Your email address, only if you give it. If you choose to join our email list, we store the address you give us and the fact that you signed up through Bookmock. We use it to send you news about Bookmock and about writing and publishing. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers listed below, who handle it on our behalf.
Settings kept in your browser
We store a few preferences on your own device so the tool remembers how you like it — the number of columns in the grid, panel sizes, and similar. These stay in your browser, are not sent to us, and clearing your browsing data removes them.
Who else is involved
We use a small number of service providers to run Bookmock: a hosting provider that serves the site, an email provider that stores our list if you join it, and content delivery networks that supply fonts and one software library to your browser. They handle information only to provide those services to us.
If you need to know exactly who they are, ask us and we will tell you.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. Write to us at the address below and we will deal with it.
If you are in Canada, your rights under PIPEDA apply. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, your rights under the UK GDPR or GDPR apply, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Bookmock is meant for authors and publishers, and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters to people on our email list, we will tell them.
